Los Jardines

Hola a todos!

This week was a little bit calmer than last week, which was a good thing. Two weeks into the transfer, and I am still learning (and loving) Los Jardines. It has been a good week and we were able to see many blessings. Number one being with Edwin, one of the people we teach.

E is more than 6 feet tall and looks like he could be a NBA basketball player (but he doesn't like basketball) but is very sweet. He wants to be baptized but so far dosen't want to choose a specific date. We wanted the Restauration video with him and a few members, and after watching it and having a mini testimony meeting with the member family he said that he felt the Spirit and knows that theBook of Mormon is true. He has decided that he wants to be baptized this month, but we've yet to set a specific day. Needless to say, we are very excited.

We are also teaching a young girl named G, lots of Dominican names end in eldy or gelis,  who is 19 years old. She lives with a less active member and has been meeting with the missionaries for some time, but came to church for the first time in a few months this Sunday! She got to meet a lot of the YSA members, which was a good thing. We are hoping to invite her to institute, because the mission office where they hold institute is really close.

Also, I got to see the previous mission president and his family, the Castillo family, this week in chruch. It felt a little strange to see them without them being our mission president, but it was good to see them again.

I will have to write more next week about the people here in Los Jardines, but I have loved it here so far. I can't wait to hear from you all next week!
