Lluvia y Sol

Dear family,

The weather here in Navarrete still hasn't quite made up its mind, so depending on the day we get lots of sun or lots of rain. It makes for a fun day and each time it rains the people on the street tell us "no se mojan!", or "don't get wet!" so we smile and pull out our umbrellas. The good thing about the Dominican Republic is that it doesn't matter if it is a  sunny day or if it's raining, it is always beautiful. :)

Hermana Henry and I are working really hard and we've been able to meet some really amazing people these past few weeks. I can't remember who I have and have not talked about, so you might have already heard about some of these people. We've been working with R, a young girl with a little one year old boy, and we are hoping that she will able to be baptized this transfer. She loves reading the Book of Mormon and came to the stake conference two weeks ago, we just need to help her keep coming to church and reading.

A few weeks ago we met S and A; S is a cousin of a member here and the first time we went to go teach him, he invited his friend A to come listen to us too. The lessons are always a surprise because we have to have another woman in the lessons so we're always hunting down a member to come with us, but every lesson we teach S and A have lots of good questions. They have come to church twice and already know a few of ward members and are friends with them. Woohoo! I always love going to teach R, S, and A because we can see that these things are important to them and they want to learn more.

We are also teaching N, who is a young mom. She told us that she wants to have a better relationship with her Heavenly Father and feel more peace in her family. We haven't taught her husband yet, but we'll see if we can't just teach him too. She says that she wants to come to church next week with her family so that her husband can learn and change with her. Sometimes it can be difficult to see the problems or challenges that the people we teach have, but I have been amazed to see the blessings that come into the lives of those we meet from the gospel. I know that there is a peace that comes into our lives when we read the Book of Mormon every day and that blessings come from being obedient.

It is crazy to think how fast the time is passing; I can hardly believe it is already March and that in a few short weeks baby Schlindy will be born! I hope that you all have a great week and that all goes well. I can't wait to hear from you all next week. Les quiero y espero que tengan una semana maravillosa!
