Here in good ol' Navarreste

KLK familia!

My area is really called Navarrete, but a lot of the older people in the DR will add in "s" to their words, especially here in Navarrete and so we hear "Navarreste" instead of "Navarrete". Thank you for your emails and support. I always love hearing from you guys and it sounds like there has been a lot of exciting things happening. Here's a quick shout out for a successful piano recital for Shih Ping, a last 10 weeks for Sam and Kiana until they get to meet the newest addition to the family, an almost drivers license for Esme (yikes! :)), a new job for Dad, and another good week for Anna and Mom. :) I'm happy to hear that everyone is doing well and has had a good week.

I had a good week this past week, and am learning more everyday. Training can be a lot of hard work but I've learned so much and have enjoyed it. It helps that my companion is a hard worker and is a very good missionary already. :) We have had a lot of rain and sometimes we get a little wet and a little cold, but that just gives us an excuse to make hot chocolate at night more often. :)

We have met a lot of really amazing people recently, some of which are N and E. N is a young mom and we started teaching her this past week. She is married, well union libre which means not married legally, and has a little year old daughter. She loves the Bible and is excited to read the Book of Mormon, which is just fine with us. :) E is a 15 year old girl that we actually contacted about a month ago with her sister in law but she came to church this past Sunday. She asked us for a Book of Mormon, because we only had one for both her and her sister in law, and said that she has been reading and wants one of her own so she can read it everyday. Woohoo! We also have been working really hard with M, the mom of a member here in our ward. She has had  cancer for the past year and a half but this past week recieved a blessing from the bishop and when she went to go do some studies during the week, the doctors told her she no longer has cancer. We are hoping she can come to church soon, so far she hasn't been able to because of health issues, but we'll see about this week. We are seeing many blessing and are trying to keep working hard here. It is amazing to see all the good things that happen on a mission, for our friends (or investigators) and also for us.

Today we went to Santiago and played volleyball and went to Wendy's to eat. It is always a lot of fun to go and see all the other missionaries, but a little crazy too. Overall, it was a good Monday. I hope that you guys all have a wonderful Monday and a good rest of your week. I love you all and can't wait to hear from you soon.
